Lightning surge test

Surge (impact) immunity test
Implementation of standards: IEC 61000-4-5 GB / T 17626.5
1.1 The cause of the surge:
Power system switching transient:
A) major power system switching harassment, such as switching of capacitor banks;
B) the smaller local switching action or load changes in the distribution system;
C) resonant phenomena associated with switching devices such as thyristors;
D) various system failures, such as short circuit and arc faults for equipment combinations on grounded systems.
Lightning Transient:
A) direct mine, it hit the external (outdoor) circuit, into the high current flowing through the grounding resistance or external circuit impedance to produce voltage;
B) the induced voltage and current generated by the indirect lightning (ie, the electromagnetic field generated between the clouds or between the clouds in the clouds or the lightning strikes in the vicinity of the objects)
C) near the ground discharge of the lightning current, when it is coupled to the equipment combined grounding system to generate a common ground path induced voltage.
When the lightning protection device is operating, the voltage and current may change rapidly and may be coupled to the internal circuit.
1.2 Surge immunity test Objective:
The purpose of the surge immunity test is to establish a common benchmark to evaluate the performance of electrical and electronic equipment in the event of a surge (impact).
1.3 Surge immunity test standard:
Surge (impact) immunity test using the national standard: GB / T17626.5-2008 "Electromagnetic compatibility test and measurement technology Surge (impact) immunity test" It is equivalent to the international standard: IEC61000-4- 5: 2005
The standard describes two different waveform generators, one is (voltage waveform: 1.2 / 50us, current waveform: 8 / 20us) combined wave generator, the other is in line with the requirements of the International Telecommunications Commission (voltage waveform: 10 / 700us, current waveform: 5 / 320us) combined wave generator.

1.5 coupling / decoupling network selection method
1.6 Test configuration:
The length of the power cord between the EUT and the coupling / decoupling network should not exceed 2 m.
Unless the relevant product standard stipulates that the number of surge pulses applied to the DC power supply side and the interconnection line should be positive and negative polarity 5 times; for the AC current port, it should be in 0 °, 90 °, 180 °, 270 ° phase Apply a positive and negative polarity of 5 times the surge pulse, continuous pulse between the time interval of 1 minute or less.
If the EUT fails when the repetition rate is 1 / min and the EUT fails while the test is performed at 1 / min repetition rate, the EUT is operating normally and tested at a repetition rate of 1 / min.
The climatic conditions of the laboratory shall not be tested if the relative humidity is so high that the condensate is generated on the EUT and the test equipment within the normal operating range of the equipment specified by the respective manufacturer of the EUT and the test equipment.
1.7 Surge immunity test results:
A) Normal performance is within the limits specified by the manufacturer, the commissioning party or the purchaser
B) function or performance is temporarily lost or reduced, but can be resumed after the harassment ceases and does not require operator intervention;
C) temporary loss or reduction in functionality or performance, but requiring operator intervention to recover;
D) Loss of performance or performance degradation due to loss of equipment hardware or software, or loss of data.
